Vancouver, BC – January 9, 2025 – The LOUD Business Association of BC announces an exciting update in its ongoing mission to support 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and professionals across British Columbia. Building on its history of community engagement, LOUD is moving forward with a dynamic new board of directors and project manager. Together, they aim to deliver innovative programming and foster an even more vibrant, inclusive business ecosystem.

For over 35 years, LOUD has been part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ business community in BC. This next act is a natural evolution of the organization's commitment to its members, with plans to update its brand and possibly its name to embrace a more inclusive identity.

"LOUD has been a source of support for 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs in BC for decades," says Parmjot Gill, board chair. "We're here to empower our members to bring their full, authentic selves to their professional lives. Through programs that truly reflect the unique needs and aspirations of the community, we're opening doors and changing the landscape of entrepreneurship in BC."

Elevating LOUD’s Mission with Bold New Initiatives

LOUD's core mission to connect, uplift, and sustain 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and professionals will be amplified through several key initiatives:

Networking Events and Educational Workshops: Curated events and workshops designed to forge meaningful connections and accelerate professional growth. These gatherings provide a safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+ professionals to share experiences, learn from each other, and build lasting business relationships.

Mentorship and Capacity-Building Programs: LOUD's mentorship programs pair entrepreneurs with experienced professionals who've walked similar paths. These programs help members navigate situations unique to being 2SLGBTQIA+ in business.

Community Partnerships: Expanding its reach through collaborations with organizations like the Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC), multiplying resources available to the LOUD community. LOUD helps create an extensive support network by joining forces with like-minded groups.

A New Digital Platform: A redesigned online platform offering seamless access to resources, events, and engagement opportunities. This hub will serve as a virtual community center, connecting members 24/7 and providing on-demand access to LOUD's resources and expertise.

    Rebranding for Greater Inclusivity

As part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion, LOUD is rebranding, an effort which may result in a name update for the organization. The rebranding reflects the organization's evolving mission to serve the full spectrum of the 2SLGBTQIA+ business community.

    Meet LOUD’s Board of Directors

LOUD proudly welcomes four new leaders to its board:

Parmjot Gill (Chair): A venture builder and investor with a passion for sustainability and community-driven initiatives. Parmjot's experience in fostering entrepreneurial ecosystems will be instrumental in expanding LOUD's support network.

Kyla Jeffrey: A strategic program development veteran with years of leadership experience. Kyla's expertise will help LOUD create targeted programs that address the unique needs of 2SLGBTQIA+ professionals.

Kareena Fagwani: A growth marketing professional specializing in social impact campaigns. Kareena's knowledge will help amplify LOUD's message and reach, ensuring the community's voices are heard.

Jon Buysen: An accomplished corporate litigator with Stikeman Elliot LLP. Jon's legal acumen will help guide LOUD's partnerships and advocacy efforts.

This team combines fresh insights with institutional knowledge, positioning LOUD to make a significant impact on the 2SLGBTQIA+ business community.
