Membership Code of Conduct

 By joining or renewing your membership with Queer Business BC, you agree to uphold the values that make this a safe, welcoming, and empowering space for 2SLGBTQIA+ professionals across BC. 

1. Respect and Inclusion

a. Treat everyone- members, staff, volunteers, partners, guests- with dignity and respect. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion of any kind will not be tolerated. Queer Business BC aims to uplift diverse voices and expects members to contribute to an inclusive, anti-oppressive community. 

2. Professionalism and Event Conduct

a. Show up with care and professionalism, whether online or in person. Aggressive, disruptive, or unsafe behavior (including misuse of alcohol) may lead to removal from the event and/or suspension or revocation of membership. Please respect the purpose of QBBC events: business and connection- not dating or aggressive solicitation. 

3. Member Interactions & Community Engagement

a. Support one another through collaboration, not competition. No spam, pushy sales actics, or exploitative behaviour is permitted. Honour personal and professional boundaries- this is a space of mutual growth and respect. 

4. Use of QBBC Services & Platforms

a. Use our directory, events, and programs in alignment with their purpose and vision. Do not share misinformation, misuse contact information, or act in bad faith. Everything you post or share should reflect shared values of respect, equity, and inclusion. 

5. Commitment to Equity & Accessibility

a. Help make QBBC accessible across BC- urban, rural, and remote. Respect folks’ accessibility needs, pronouns, and accommodations. Use inclusive language and act in ways that make others feel seen and safe. 

Violation of this Code may result in a warning, suspension, or removal of QBBC membership without refund, at Queer Business BC’s sole discretion.
